Vendor Spotlight: Kristen Kay Photography

Long after your wedding is over, after the ink dries on your marriage certificate, and after you've eaten every last bit of your wedding cake- what do you have left of the most  important day of your life?  Good photos! Hopefully.  A wedding is a huge milestone in your life and you need an amazing photographer to capture your big day.  You should be able to look at your photos and remember the mood and tone of your wedding.  You should remember the laughs and the tears and all of the little details that made your day so special.

XOXO, Jamelle and Kristen Kay Photography teamed up for  Anquinette and Tony's wedding at Eldorado Dry Lake Bed and I was totally impressed by her work!  Her photos are stunning.  Her style is original and unique.  So, I asked Kristen to be a part of my Vendor Spotlight Series.  If you fall in love with her (like I have), please give her a call!

1.        Who are you?

My name is Kristen Krehbiel. I'm an intimate wedding and outdoor elopement photographer for adventurous couples. I was born in Texas, raised in Iowa and have traveled all over the World and America! I have a BA in photography from the University of Northern Iowa. I’m a proud wife and bird mom to a little Green Cheek Conure named Chappie. My inspiration comes from nature and traveling as well as other artists and creatives!

2.        What service do you provide? And/or What product do you sell?

I offer a variety of packages ranging from 1 hour elopement coverage to all day wedding coverage with engagements. I deliver edited, digital photos with a print release. I also offer custom made, gorgeous albums: the best way to display all your favorite wedding photos in one place! I also offer large prints and small ones too because I believe photographs shouldn’t live in computers.

3.        Why did you start your business?

I started my business for the first time when I was 18 (nearly 10 years ago), but in all my travels it wasn’t taken seriously. However, with my recent move to Vegas and in finding a supportive group of photographers as well as discovering my love for simple, outdoor elopements, I was ready to jump in once again. I love creating art for couples in love, I love photographing at sunset in nature, I love the intimacy of the day and I love meeting couples from all over the world and telling their stories!

4.        How do you offer exceptional service to your clients?

What I offer my wedding couples goes beyond the wedding day. It starts with your inquiry, I work with you to help you plan your special day in any way I can, by referring vendors, locations, hotels and all the little details in between. On the day of, I capture, you and yours, so deeply in love. I’m not only your photographer but sometimes the planner, hair fixer, dress cleaner, flower holder, bridesmaid and friend! After the wedding, I help couples choose the perfect way to display their images around their home.

5.        Self- titled:
Adventuring, health nut with a camera in tow.

6.        The last book I read:

I am ashamed to admit that I’m really not much of a reader, but I loved the Hunger Games series when I read it years ago and love scrolling through blogs, especially wedding and travel blogs.

7.        My favorite dessert:
Anything gluten free with ice cream.

8.        My signature Drink:
Coffee in the mornings, Kombucha for lunch and Guinness or wine in the evenings.

9.        My super power:

I’m the best at brainstorming thousands of ideas, but picking one is my downfall

10.    My favorite Las Vegas attraction:

I love the vibe of Downtown and the beauty of Mt. Charleston. I love escaping the city and spending time in the fresh mountain air.
